The best Arsenal lineup of the post-Wenger era
- Arsene Wenger left Arsenal in 2018
- Since then, Arsenal have seen some excellent players
- Here is the best Arsenal lineup of the post-Wenger era
By Kian Long
RW: Bukayo Saka
It is perhaps the biggest mystery of football - How on earth did Bukayo Saka never play under Arsene Wenger?
The manager who was renowned for raising the best young talents just missed out on Bukayo Saka. The English "starboy" made his first team debut in the following season after Wenger stepped down, under Emery. He's been a consistently great performer and has everything it takes to go down as an Arsenal legend, if he isn't one already.
CF: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Aubameyang is like Marmite, you either love him or you hate him.
Certainly, he was well-loved by Arsenal fans during his time leading the attack. Aubameyang was a lethal goal-scorer who could create goals from nothing. When the Gabon international was ticking, his energy transcended to the others. Auba played the final half-season of Wenger's time at Arsenal but reached his peak under Mikel Arteta.
We'll leave the manner in which he left the club out of the equation. As a player, Auba is the best striker of the post-Wenger era.
LW: Gabriel Martinelli
When Martinelli was first signed by Unai Emery, nobody expected him to be as exceptional he was. It's a testament to his hunger and drive that the Brazilian winger has emerged into one of the world's best and this season, he's proving it in the Champions League. A true credit to this post-Wenger Arsenal side.
