CM - Granit Xhaka (player for Bayer Leverkusen)

Granit Xhaka is remembered fondly by Arsenal fans, which is a surprise considering how his short stint as captain went. The Swiss international played in Arsene Wenger's final game and under Unai Emery, his career appeared to be down and out as he was involved in a heated exchange with the Emirates Stadium crowd.

Working under Mikel Arteta was the turning point, though, and he mended his relationship well. He is now part of the incredible Bayer Leverkusen team who historically went unbeaten throughout an entire Bundesliga season to lift the honour.

CM - Aaron Ramsey (player for Cardiff City)

Aaron Ramsey is one of the best players to play under Arsene Wenger and fittingly, he picked up an assist in Wenger's final match as Arsenal boss. The Welshman's career went full circle as after leaving Arsenal in 2019, enjoyed spells at Juventus, Rangers (loan), Nice and then returned to his boyhood club Cardiff City, where he now plays.

CM - Henrikh Mkhitaryan (player for Inter Milan)

Signed from Manchester United in 2018, Henrikh Mkhitaryan played in the final Arsene Wenger game as Arsenal boss. The Armenian international only represented Arsenal for two years as he was sold by Mikel Arteta. Since leaving Arsenal, Mkhi has played for Roma and Inter Milan, winning the Europa Conference League with the former and the Serie A title for the latter.
