3. Give Mikel Arteta the keys

He might even have them already, but the club can still perhaps do more.

It is clear that Arsenal trust in Arteta- they stuck by him when he had us languishing in 15th when many fans had lost hope in his ‘process’, and when we missed out on Europe for the first time in 25 years. Additionally, they have always given him lots of money to spend.

But even so, we often leave ourselves short in the transfer window and, as a result, go into the new campaign already on the back foot- not a great place to be when competing with the Man City juggernaut.

This tendency to underdeliver is evident in many transfer windows, like failing to replace Granit Xhaka last season and instead putting a square-peg Kai Havertz in midfield, failing to buy the expected wide player in summer 2022, and neglecting to purchase a striker in January 2022 after the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fallout.

Although the boss is not exactly hard done by, the club always appears to be one step behind him with recruitment, and even then, he has brought us to within touching distance of the Premier League crown.

Every note must be hit this time around. Give Arteta a complete squad and he might just beat Pep to the punch.
