Arsenal's defensive steel the last infinity stone in Arteta's gauntlet

Solid defensive setups and Arsenal haven't belonged in the same sentence since the days of Tony Adams and Sol Campbell. Well, now, it appears to be the final piece in Arteta's vision.

With the vast array of attacking power and with their ability to dominate games with possession, the Gunners ability to soak up and absorb pressure like they did was the final piece of their game that many wanted to see.

Against City, it was on show as Arsenal often sat back and invited City onto them (usually nightmare fuel), but this time, the Gunners repelled everything with relative ease.

While they won't have to resort to this all the time, the fact that Arsenal can go to the Etihad and put up a defensive performance like that will no doubt boost the confidence levels for the title run in.
