Needless to say, Arsenal have another must-win Premier League match upcoming this evening in Arsenal vs Luton. In fact, every game they prepare to face, regardless of the opposition, is important. They are involved in a three-way title race, a little different to last season.

Heading into this match, Mikel Arteta sees his side sit second in the Premier League table, keeping up with the pack by holding Manchester City to a stalemate last weekend. Last time out, the Gunners struggled against Luton, forced to scoring a late winner. But this time round, first-place is up for grabs, at least until tomorrow when Liverpool face Sheffield United, anyway.

Given the quick turnaround in fixtures and some players looking tired after the Man City snooze-fest, the expectation is that Mikel Arteta could rotate his squad but he must get the balance right to avoid dropping points.

Mikel Arteta encouraged to start two fringe players in Arsenal vs Luton

TBR Football made the right call for Mikel Arteta to start two fringe players tonight. They suggested that Takehiro Tomiyasu and Thomas Partey could come into the fray tonight. This opinion is shared by Pain in the Arsenal, as James Cormack shared his rotated Arsenal lineup vs Luton.

Mikel Arteta is certainly a fan of Takehiro Tomiyasu, so returning from injury and international duty recently, it would be no surprise to see him make the starting eleven. It has been a long time coming, since the last time Tomiyasu started a Premier League match was in December of 2023. He did play against Man City at the weekend, showing he's match fit.

The same can be said for Thomas Partey, who has started just three Premier League matches. The Ghana international remains a fan favourite and a desirable option for Mikel Arteta. He came off the bench against Man City, putting in a good display. As an Arsenal player on thin ice before the summer transfer window, he will look to impress between now and the end of the season.
