Mikel Arteta's top 3 signings as Arsenal manager
• Signings show faith in youth
• Acquisitions have evolved into world class performers

As Mikel Arteta enters his ninth transfer window as Arsenal manager, I look back at his three best signings to date.
At times, Arteta has been criticised for his transfer dealings during his tenure as Arsenal manager, which has felt admittedly justified at times. Despite this, the Spaniard has also overseen several excellent transfers which deserve equal recognition.
With it looking increasingly likely that Arsenal's business in the current transfer window will be heavily limited, I thought what could be a better alternative than indulging in the nostalgia of our best transfers from years gone by?
With that being said, here are, in my opinion, the top three Arsenal signings under Mikel Arteta.
#3: Gabriel Magalhaes - £22.5m (from LOSC Lille)
When Gabriel arrived in north London in August 2020, little was known of the Brazilian - though fans had high hopes that he could fill the void left by Laurent Koscielny following his unceremonious departure the year before.
As a 22-year-old, Gabriel started 22 Premier League games in his debut season and quickly became a fan favourite - largely owing to his physical dominance and the passion that he displayed during games.
During his three and a half years at the club, he has seen his value more than double and has become an integral part of the team, and is now one of the first names on the team sheet.
While his initial signing may not have wowed too many people, I think we can agree that Gabriel has certainly been an incredible signing for the club - and one of the best made by Mikel Arteta during his time at the club.
