Arsenal got off to winning ways in the Premier League. It was a comfortable 2-0 win, with Mikel Arteta picking up where he left off in the last campaign. Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka provided the goals, with every Arsenal attacker having their own say on the match.

The striker role is one which raises a lot of contention within the Arsenal fanbase. While some see the benefit of signing an external option in this position, others point to Kai Havertz' impressive turnaround as a reason to trust him. In fact, Saturday's performance against Wolves showed that Havertz could be THE guy for Arsenal up front.

But what does Mikel Arteta think and is it within his Arsenal transfer plan to sign a new striker before the Premier League transfer window closes?

According to a report from Football Insider, Arsenal have made their final decision to not sign a striker before the transfer window ends. This is a firm decision and one which has been decided, even factoring in the potential Eddie Nketiah sale.

So, Kai Havertz will continue to battle with Gabriel Jesus for the striker role in the 2024/25 season, at least until January. Havertz is clearly the winner of this battle, for understandable reasons. However, Gabriel Jesus is a great option to have, particularly off the bench. The Brazil international did have a good pre-season and performed well as a substitute at the weekend.

Arsenal scored 91 goals in the Premier League last season, an incredible tally which was only narrowly beaten by Man City. Therefore, it is hard to imagine a player (particularly given the current underwhelming options in the transfer market) who could come in and improve Arsenal's attack. People forget that the attack is essentially perfect as it is.

Do you think Arsenal have made the right decision to not sign a striker?
