The final international break of the season meant March was a month of relative comfort ahead of the storm which has is about to hit clubs across the continent.

For those still competing in Europe, April is going to be a slog and a half with matches arriving at an unrelenting rate.

Arsenal's form over the next few weeks will define their 2023/24 season, with their work in March aiding their charge on two fronts.

But who impressed the most during these four fixtures? Using our playing ratings, let's see who's been crowned our March 2023 Player of the Month.

PITA's Arsenal Player of the Month - March 2023

3. William Saliba (Average rating - 7.25)

His centre-back partner was also immense in March, but Gabriel has been pipped to third sport by the ever-classy Saliba.

Unfancied by Didier Deschamps, it currently seems unlikely for Saliba to play a big part during France's Euro 2024 campaign, but the defender's stellar work at the heart of Arsenal's backline will continue to give the French national team boss something to think about.

Saliba was particularly brilliant on Easter Sunday alongside Gabriel as the Gunners shut out Manchester City at the Etihad - a truly rare feat.

2. Declan Rice (Average rating - 7.375)

The phenom has evoled considerably since joining the club. In 2024, Rice has offered a distinct threat from his set-piece delivered and he's gradually moved into a more advanced role with the wily Jorginho offering greater defensive protection.

He made the most of his attacking license in March as Rice crashed the box to score in the victories over Sheffield United and Brentford.

The Englishman, who captained his country for the first time during the break, is enjoying a superb campaign, with Arsenal's vastly improved showing at the Etihad compared to previous ventures owing plenty to Rice's superior midfield coverage.

1. Martin Odegaard & Ben White (Average rating - 7.5)

The consistent Rice hasn't quite done enough to prevail once again, and we've got joint-winners in March.

Ben White has been nothing short of imperious since Arsenal returned from Dubai, and March was the best month of football he's put together all season.

The defender averaged a 7.5 rating from four starts, producing his best in the 2-1 win over Brentford as he recorded two assists. He's playing with a swagger once again; but he couldn't quite topple Martin Odegaard to win this award outright.

We're running out of superlatives to describe the skipper's majesty. Had he produced just a little more in possession against City, there's no doubt he would've sailed away with sole POTM honours. Odegaard waved his magic wand in the beatdown of Sheffield United, then grabbing the second leg against FC Porto by the scruff of the neck as he tried to will his side over the line.
