As the old saying goes "once a Gunner, always a Gunner." Well, this hasn't always been the case as many players throughout the club's history have gone onto represent other clubs, including some rivals. However, some have stuck true to their word and retired in North London. That said, here we are ranking the 10 greatest players to retire at Arsenal through history...

10. Petr Čech

Petr Čech is without a doubt one of the greatest goalkeepers to grace the Premier League, if not the best. Arsenal were lucky enough to get four years of service out of the Czech Republican but it's fair to say those were his worst years, as he reached the end of his career at Arsenal.

Regardless, he is a legend of the game and having won the FA Cup with Arsenal in 2017, he cemented himself into the Arsenal history books.

9. Mikel Arteta

Petr Čech's former teammate edges him in this list, as Mikel Arteta left behind a greater legacy at Arsenal. He was once the club's captain and proving to be one of the best midfielders in the league during his playing days, Arteta certainly left an imprint on the club.

Of course, from 2019, Arteta returned to the club to fill the head coach role, once again showing his commitment to the club.
