3. Diant Ramaj
Sticking with the Eredivisie, another option for Mikel Arteta to consider is Diant Ramaj. The young goalkeeper is emerging as one of the best prospects in European football, with his whole future ahead of him. He is just 22 years old, which when you consider the extended lifespan of goalkeepers, makes him a gem for the summer transfer window.
According to Standard (in May 2024), Diant Ramaj is an option considered by Mikel Arteta to replace Aaron Ramsdale, should he leave.
Certainly, Diant Ramaj would be a goalkeeper who already fits the Mikel Arteta prototype. He is excellent with the ball at his feet, being both comfortable to play out from the back and distribute far and wide. In many ways, he is like a younger David Raya, which could benefit Arsenal should they require a different avenue.
Unfortunately, Mikel Arteta's philosophy has outgrown the need for Aaron Ramsdale, but it could certainly call upon Ramaj.
