Arsenal fans will look forward to getting back to action in the Premier League for the 2024/25 season. This week, the fixture list was announced, which only added to the anticipation. However, before the season commences, Mikel Arteta has some difficult decisions to make in the summer transfer window.

So far, Arsenal have yet to make any signings. In fact, they have been very quiet on this front, especially since the Benjamin Sesko deal fell through. While fans will understandably anticipate the arrival of new players this summer, it is equally as important for Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar to consider which players will leave the club.

Reiss Nelson handed Arsenal transfer exit route by Premier League duo

According to a report by Football Insider, West Ham United and Nottingham Forest have approached Arsenal over a potential deal for Reiss Nelson. While the interest is still in the early stages, it is believed that the Gunners are willing to listen to offers for Reiss Nelson.

Reiss Nelson has started just one Premier League game for Arsenal in four seasons. Therefore, fans should not expect too much in the way of a transfer fee for Nelson. There is a strange belief that Nelson is one of those players who could pick Arsenal up a lot of money if he is sold, or that he is somehow untouchable but in truth, those beliefs have no foundation.

This summer, it is time for Nelson to leave Arsenal. Otherwise, he is simply rotting away. He is clearly a talented winger but he is surplus to requirements since he is not good enough to start for a team who wishes to compete for the title. Fans won't like hearing that but it is the truth.

Arsenal fans will forever remember THAT goal against Bournemouth, which in many ways was a turning point for the club. But since that moment and admittedly long before it, Nelson has not done much to warrant wearing the Arsenal jersey.
