Arsenal obliterated a poor Sheffield United side thanks to five first-half goals as Mikel Arteta's side continues to steamroll its way through the league.

Well, that was fun, wasn't it?

Arsenal clicked into gear from the opening whistle and slammed on three goals inside the first 15 minutes as the hosts had barely gotten off the bus.

The chief destroyers were Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, and Declan Rice. The Gunners, who knew a win was needed to keep pace with Liverpool and Manchester City, had the game all but won just 15 minutes in.

Such was the Gunners' domination in the first half that Arteta's side had 79% possession and had 16 shots (seven on target) to one.

Arsenal was clicking on all cylinders as since coming back from the mini bye to Dubai, the Gunners have been irrepressible.

The game provided plenty of talking points; here they are.

Arsenal have goal difference advantage in title race

Thanks to the 6-0-win, Arsenal not only kept pace with Liverpool and City, but also managed to get a slight advantage over both in the process.

With the huge win, the Gunners' goal difference skyrocketed and now is +10 better than City's and +6 better than Liverpool's. While it might not seem significant right now, when things get tight end tense in the title run-in, perhaps goal difference will be what separates the teams.
