3. Kai Havertz vs Micky van de Ven

If all else fails, Arsenal can at least rely on their trusty German forward.

Midfield issues could see Kai Havertz resume his left 8 berth, but he might offer too much quality in a centre-forward role to be considered there, especially after his standout performance in this fixture last April.

Havertz found the net that day and set up another as the Gunners stormed into a 3-0 lead, with our rivals proving utterly incapable of stopping the set-piece threat. His general play (e.g. running the channels, aerial prowess, tracking back, etc.) will be a thorn in their side again on Sunday and could even contribute to keeping them out at the other end.

For Sp*rs, Micky van de Ven is a formidable opponent whose speed and physicality will force Havertz to work hard for every ball. But the Dutch defender came off second best last time and could easily meet a similar fate here, given his inferiority (relative to Havertz) in the air and our man’s unerring ability to stretch the defence.

Perhaps his best bet is for Havertz to be stationed elsewhere.
