2. He is the superstar this process deserves

As I have mentioned before, the Arteta process has now reached a point where only the very best talents should come into consideration. Frenkie de Jong doubtlessly falls into that bracket.

This belief has already rung true for both of our title rivals, with Liverpool scaling incredible heights after the arrivals of Alisson and Virgil van Dijk. Meanwhile, an extraordinary £250m splurge in 2017 saw Manchester City evolve from a mere top-four competitor to Centurions one year later, and they have averaged 91 points every season since.

Of course, investment alone is not the answer and such riches must only be entrusted to a manager who will make the most of them - a box which Arteta definitely ticks.

He may not yet have the silverware to complement his managerial expertise, but the boss has proven himself to be an astute tactician- evidenced by our successive title bids- and boasts a track record (Declan Rice, Ben White, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang) of getting the big transfer calls right. Yes, I suspect Kai Havertz will come good.   

If a deal can be done, let Arteta add this jewel to the Arsenal crown.
