Arsenal got back to winning ways after their UEFA Champions League elimination on Wednesday, as they secured a comfortable 2-0 win away to Wolves.

After an end-to-end start to the game, Arsenal survived a scare in the first half, as Joao Gomes hit the post, a warning sign to the Gunners, who had been profligate up to that point.

They clearly took this warning on board, as Mikel Arteta's side nudged themselves ahead in the 45th minute thanks to a great finish from Leandro Trossard, after some excellent footwork by Gabriel Jesus.

The second half saw Arsenal exert more control, before eventually doubling their lead in the 96th minute, as Martin Ødegaard scored from a rebound after having his first effort saved.

The closing moments passed without further action as Arsenal saw out an ultimately comfortable 2-0 win.

The result sees the Gunners go top of the Premier League table, though Manchester City have a game in hand, where they will look to dethrone Arsenal once again.

Goalkeepers and defenders

David Raya (GK) - 8/10 - Raya made three saves in the game, two from inside the penalty area, as he kept a clean sheet against Wolves. The Spaniard was in top form and was a reassuring presence in the Arsenal goal.

Ben White (RB) - 7/10 - White did nothing wrong in the win, as he offered defensive solidity while also combining with Bukayo Saka in attack as he so often has before.

William Saliba (CB) - 7/10 - Despite his critics being ever-vocal in recent weeks, Saliba put in another top performance, as he looked as assuring as ever in the Arsenal backline.

Gabriel Magalhaes (CB) - 7/10 - Similarly to Saliba, not too much was asked of Gabriel, though he never looked at all concerned in defence against an injury-plagued Wolves side.

Jakub Kiwior (LB) - 6/10 - Arsenal's left-back department has looked anything but secure, and these issues were brought to the forefront again against Wolves. Kiwior looked to be performing well offensively, but had another defensive mishap, though luckily it was not costly this time.
