Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Everton - Premier League

It's a classic tale of red vs blue as Arsenal face Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Toffees typically don't enjoy their trips to the Emirates, although they ran the Gunners close on the final day last season. Sean Dyche remains at the helm of the visitors, so we know what to expect from a team that's once again poised to be battling against relegation. Avoid the giveaway of set-pieces and Arsenal should be okay.

Mikel Arteta has been forced to deploy makeshift backlines in recent outings, and while two points were dropped at Fulham last weekend, Arsenal haven't suffered too much in terms of their overall performance levels.

There's hope Arteta will welcome one or two back in time for Saturday's game, and here's the team he could pick to face Everton.

Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Everton

Goalkeeper & Defenders

David Raya (GK) - Raya will be hoping for another serene outing on Saturday after seamlessly making his way through Wednesday's Champions League bout. Opposite number Jordan Pickford is a contender for his Golden Glove.

Thomas Partey (RB) - Arsenal are supposedly yet to make significant progress on the Partey contract extension front despite the Ghanaian's impressive start to the season. Partey could be used at right-back again on Saturday.

William Saliba (CB) - Saliba's been superb as of late and will not be coming out of the XI anytime soon.

Gabriel (CB) - If the latest reports are to be believed, Gabriel will be back in the team on Saturday having missed Arsenal's previous three outings through injury. A big boost.

Jurrien Timber (LB) - Harsh on Myles Lewis-Skelly, but I can see Arteta opting for Timber at left-back again. Ideally, the Dutchman would get the nod on his preferred side with MLS remaining in the team

Midfielders

Declan Rice (DM) - Rice is beginning to find his groove after a slow start to the season. His utilisation at the base of midfield helps.

Mikel Merino (CM) - You kinda know what you're going to get from Merino. He's no world beater and does appear ponderous at times, but there's reason to believe he can perform a critical function within Arteta's framework.

Martin Odegaard (CM) - It's been a quiet couple of outings for the skipper, but the Gunners will turn to Odegaard and their right-hand side for inspiration against a tightly-packed Everton defence on Saturday.

Forwards

Bukayo Saka (RW) - The inevitable Saka produced the goods again in midweek, and he matches up against a familiar foe in Vitalii Mykolenko on Saturday. The pair have locked horns on multiple occasions, with Mykolenko dominating the duel at Goodison Park in February 2023, but the left-back has his work cut out if he's to tame Saka this weekend.

Kai Havertz (ST) - There should be a return to the XI for Havertz, who earned some much-needed respite in midweek. The German scored off the bench in Arsenal's 3-0 win.

Leandro Trossard (LW) - Seemingly no one wants to lock down a spot on the left-hand side. Neither Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli have enamoured the boss in recent weeks and it'd be nice to see a bit of Raheem Sterling every once in a while.
