Mikel Arteta selects his final starting lineup of the 2024/25 season on Sunday afternoon, with Arsenal visiting bottom-of-the-table Southampton.
The boss may well have hoped there was something riding on this fixture, but a sub-par run in the spring allowed Liverpool to canter at the summit. There was then the threat of getting dragged into the Champions League dogfight, but Declan Rice's goal last Sunday to down Newcastle ensured of Arsenal's place in the top five.
Barring a mini-miracle on Sunday, the Gunners will finish second for the third consecutive year. Bridesmaids.
A procession is expected on the south coast against an all-time bad Premier League team, and here's the starting XI Arteta could pick.
Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Southampton (4-3-3)

Goalkeeper & Defenders
David Raya (GK) - A clean sheet on Sunday against the league's lowest-scoring outfit guarantees Raya the Golden Glove. He may have to share it with Matz Sels, though.
Ben White (RB) - Omitted from the England squad despite declaring his availability, White will look to return to his most potent form over the summer and aim to be in peak condition for the start of next season. It's been a rusty return from injury.
Jakub Kiwior (CB) - Kiwior had no issues sliding over to the right side last week, and William Saliba's absence means he'll be stationed there from the start on Sunday.
Riccardo Calafiori (CB) - The Italian reminded us all that he's a centre-back by trade against Newcastle, impressing in the second half last week after replacing Saliba. He'll partner Kiwior at St. Mary's.
Myles Lewis-Skelly (LB) - The teenager concludes his breakout season on the south coast with another start, but Arteta will surely allow Kieran Tierney minutes on his final outing for the club.
Midfielders
Jorginho (DM) - The experienced midfielder has returned from a lung/rib injury in recent weeks and made his final appearance at the Emirates last week. It'd be nice to see Jorginho start at the base of midfield this weekend ahead of his summer move.
Declan Rice (CM) - Last week's hero doesn't need to get through 90 minutes here with Mikel Merino back from suspension, but he's rarely found himself out of the manager's starting XI.
Ethan Nwaneri (CM) - The uptick in Nwaneri minutes promised by Arteta hasn't yet come to pass, so perhaps the Spaniard is saving them all for the final day.
Forwards
Bukayo Saka (RW) - I'm sure plenty of FPL managers are banking on Saka to have a big day. The winger was ever so productive pre-injury, but much of his good work since returning from hamstring surgery arrived in the Champions League.
Kai Havertz (ST) - If Havertz doesn't score on Sunday, Arsenal won't have a double-digit goalscorer in the league for the first time in over 100 years. I expect the German to start after returning from injury last Sunday.
Gabriel Martinelli (LW) - With Havertz back in the mix, it's a straight toss-up between Martinelli and Trossard down the left once more. Perhaps Raheem Sterling will cap a memorable loan spell by starring on the final day. Too far?
