Raheem Sterling (RW) - 7/10 - Looked good with the ball and seemed desperate to score throughout. Was denied a late goal by a stunning goal line clearance but can be happy with a good performance.

Gabriel Jesus (ST) - 8/10 - Put in a performance that proved he is still capable of playing for Arsenal. Netted the opener with a neat finish on the half volley and showed plenty of flair and brilliance throughout. Also picked up an assist when he set up Nwaneri's stunner.

Gabriel Martinelli (LW) - 7/10 - Caused the Preston defence a lot of trouble and looked good on and off the ball. Linked up well with his fellow attackers and will wish he got on the scoresheet having struck an effort from outside the box. Taken off with a little under half an hour to play.

Substitutes

  • Kai Havertz - 7/10
  • Thomas Partey - 6.5/10
  • Myles Lewis-Skelly - 6/10
  • Bukayo Saka - 6.5/10
  • Ayden Heaven - 6/10

Player of the match: Ethan Nwaneri
