Join us for our Preston vs Arsenal preview. It features all the key Carabao Cup information including team news, predictions and lineups.
There was a sense of disappointment in Gunners quarters following Sunday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool in Sunday's back-and-forth Premier League encounter, but there's a chance for the club's academy stars to inflate Gooner moods on Wednesday night.
Arsenal have performed poorly in the domestic cups under Mikel Arteta since the Spaniard lifted the FA Cup at the end of his debut season in north London. However, they've got a great chance to advance into the quarter-finals of this competition as they face Championship side Preston.
While Arsenal thumped Bolton 5-1 in the third round, Wednesday's hosts upset Fulham following a marathon penalty shootout which ended 16-15 in their favour. Paul Heckingbottom's side are currently 16th in the second tier but are five games unbeaten. They were, however, held to a point by Plymouth on Sunday despite racing into a seemingly unassailable 3-0 lead.
This could be a feel-good night for the Gunners, and here's our preview of the cup tie.

Preston team news
Wednesday's hosts head into this cup tie with several injury concerns, and their issues worsened at the weekend when experienced midfielder Robbie Brady rolled his ankle during Preston's draw with Plymouth.
Brady is set to to join Ched Evans, Patrick Bauer and Will Keane for Arsenal's visit.
Striker Milutin Osmajici is still serving an eight-game ban for biting.
Predicted Preston lineup vs Arsenal: Woodman; Kesler-Hayden, Hughes, Lindsay, Storey, Potts; Whiteman, Frokjaer-Jensen, Ledson; Greenwood, Riis.
Arsenal team news
While Gabriel and Jurrien Timber are unlikely to be out of action for very long having suffered injuries at the weekend, neither player will be risked on Wednesday. There should also be some respite for Bukayo Saka.
Martin Odegaard is poised to step up his recovery from an ankle injury this week, but won't be featuring at Deepdale. Ethan Nwaneri should get a chance from the outset in the middle of the park.
Takehiro Tomiyasu, Riccardo Calafiori Kieran Tierney are all out injured for the away side.
Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Preston: Raya; Nichols, White, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Jorginho, Nwaneri, Rice; Sterling, Jesus, Martinelli.
Preston vs Arsenal score prediction
The manager's bound to rotate, and we're all looking forward to the club's young guns getting a run out at Deepdale after starring in the third round.
The Gunners have been caught out in games of this ilk under Arteta's watch, but I can't envisage a Preston side that surrendered a three-goal lead in dramatic fashion to Plymouth on Sunday toppling a youth-infused Arsenal side boasting a number of players out with a point to prove. The Gunners advance.
