Arsenal devastatingly blitzed PSV in the Champions League to take a mammoth lead back to the Emirates for the second leg.

Well, that's more like it.

Arsenal and its goal-scoring woes, at least for one night, were blissfully forgotten as Mikel Arteta's side slammed home seven goals on the road at PSV to all but book their spot in the next round of the Champions League.

A double from skipper Martin Odegaard plus goals from Jurrien Timber, Ethan Nwaneri, Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino, and Leandro Trossard sealed a history-making win for the Gunners as the goal-scoring woes that had plagued the team were forgotten...for a night.

Here are three takeaways from Arsenal's 7-1 win over PSV

What goal-scoring issues?

The Gunners have been woeful in front of goal over the past couple of weeks, but against PSV, on the road, everything seemed to click as the amount of goals Arsenal scored in its previous five games, it managed in 90 minutes against PSV.

Odegaard's double and Nwaneri's strike was good for the soul, while Trossard, who was excellent all night, deservedly got on the scoresheet.

Perhaps the mental handbrake will now be lifted as Arsenal faces Manchester United at the weekend and now the goals, will hopefully start flowing.
