Arsenal eased to a record-breaking 7-1 victory at PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday evening to all but secure their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League ahead of next week's second leg.
Mikel Arteta made two changes to his starting XI for the tie, bringing in Myles Lewis-Skelly and Thomas Partey in place of Riccardo Calafiori and Jorginho.
The Gunners controlled the first half with ease, taking the lead after 18 minutes when Jurrien Timber headed in a Declan Rice cross at the back post. A Hale End combination doubled the advantage moments later when Myles Lewis-Skelly's low cross was met with a thunderous strike by Ethan Nwaneri.
Makeshift striker Mikel Merino got back among the goals on the half hour mark when he broke past the PSV defence to place a fine effort into the far corner. The hosts pulled one back just before the break when Noa Lang converted from the spot after Thomas Partey brought down Luuk de Jong.

Arteta's side came out firing instantly in the second half with Martin Odegaard was in the right position to tap in the rebound from a palmed out Nwaneri cross. Leandro Trossard made it five just a minute later when he was played in by Riccardo Calafiori before lobbing Walter Benitez from a tight angle.
The skipper grabbed his second of the night when he ran towards goal unchallenged before unleashing an effort that was too powerful for Benitez to stop. Calafiori rounded off the scoring for the Gunners when he made a striker's run to be found by Odegaard before calmly slotting it into the net.
Arsenal's dominant win at PSV all but secures their spot in the quarter-finals where they will face either Real or Atletico Madrid. The victory will allow them to take their foot off the pedal slightly in next week's second leg.
Here are the Arsenal player ratings from their outstanding win over PSV.
PSV Eindhoven 1-7 Arsenal player ratings

David Raya (GK) - 7/10 - Wasn't troubled too much and had to make just one save all night. Didn't move for Noa Lang's penalty but it was unlikely he would have stopped it.
Jurrien Timber (RB) - 7.5/10 - Did well on the right side as he helped keep PSV's threat to a bare minimum. Got up the pitch on plenty of occasions and scored the opening goal with a good header at the back post.
William Saliba (CB) - 7/10 - Was not required to do much but what was needed, he did well. Solid performance at the back for the Frenchman.
Gabriel Magalhaes (CB) - 7/10 - Like his partner, not much was asked of him but he was strong when required. Will be disappointed not to have kept a clean sheet.
Myles Lewis-Skelly (LB) - 6.5/10 - Booked in the first half and avoided a second yellow when he committed a wreckless challenge soon after. Combined well with Nwaneri to grab an assist but was brought off after 35 minutes.
