Since arriving at Arsenal in the summer transfer window, Riccardo Calafiori has been plagued by injuries. Right now, for example, the Italian full-back is on the treatment table and unable to play. However, whenever he has been involved in action, Arsenal has looked all the better for it.
Shortly into his Arsenal spell, Calafiori scored THAT goal against Man City at the Etihad Stadium. The impressively taken goal, and the celebration with Mikel Arteta, etched himself into the Arsenal good books early on.
Since that display, Calafiori has only improved and he's become an integral part of the Arsenal defence. Fans feel his presence when he's around and feel his absence when he's not, which is the sign of a great defender.
Not only is Calafiori a great positional player, he has the ability to contribute to multiple positions. Without a doubt, this would have been a pull factor for Mikel Arteta, who values this in his players, and a large reason why the Spanish coach pushed hard to sign him from Serie A in the summer.
Riccardo Calafiori's new tattoo may make Arsenal fans look twice
Riccardo Calafiori is one of the inked Arsenal stars and he has recently added a new tattoo to his already impressive collection. Doing the rounds on social media lately are images of Calafiori's new tattoo, which is a hand piece featuring a sun, with red ink.
Tattoos etched with primarily red ink have become increasingly popular over the last number of years and Riccardo Calafiori is the latest to adopt the trend. Rumour has it, that he hired an Italian tattoo artist to come out to London to add to his collection.
As aesthetically pleasing as the new tattoo is, I couldn't help but take a double look at the image. The reason being is due to the tattoo showing similarity to blood. Not just the colour either, but the way the design seems to flow like liquid would.

Of course, Premier League referees take bleeding very seriously and can halt play when players are bleeding. Although the tattoo is not on his face, it wouldn't be surprising if referees had to take a double glance at Calafiori to make sure he isn't bleeding.
All of this isn't to say Riccardo Calafiori doesn't look good. We all know he does and his latest tattoo addition only adds to his charm. However, it could just as easily be misinterpreted.
