Bukayo Saka scored on his Arsenal return in scenes that were good for the soul.

Arsenal's 2-1 win over Fulham was all about the return of Bukayo Saka from a three-month injury having needed surgery to repair it back in December.,

With Saka building up towards a return over the international break, Mikel Arteta resisted the urge to start the winger, with Bukayo coming on in the 66th minute to a rousing reception from the Emirates faithful.

Just seeing No. 7 back on the pitch in any capacity is good for the soul, and the club has desperately needed some spark into team, and they got in after just seven minutes of Saka being on the field.

Gabriel Martinelli drove at the Fulham box, before laying off a pass to Mikel Merino. The Spaniard stretched and crossed the ball into the box, and Martinelli was there to flick it on to Saka at the back post to double Arsenal's lead.

The return was complete.

Saka's return just in time

With Real Madrid in a couple of weeks, if Saka had any chance to be involved and potentially be a game changer for the Gunners, he needed to play against Fulham, and then Everton as a build-up to the colossal clash.

And against Fulham, he got roughly 30 minutes in the tank and scored a goal for good measure.

"I think it's a beautiful moment to see how much our people love, respect and admire Bukayo," Arteta said via arsenal.com on Bukayo's return. "He's not a surprise to any of us and I think the best example is his reaction. Immediately after scoring a goal, what does he do? He goes and says thank you for all the hard work that all the sports science guys, physios and everybody involved in the recovery have done for him to be in the condition that he is. I think he lifted the stadium, the energy and it's great to have him back."

With Saka's return, it has the potential to be a good finish to the season for the Gunners, with the Champions League clash to come.

After being deprived of quality attacking play, Arsenal, in the space of a month, get Martinelli and Saka back on the pitch. Yes, it's too little, too late in regard to the title, but in a season where precious little has gone right, we need to celebrate these little wins.

And in Saka's case, it was a big win.
