Arsenal has a commanding lead over PSV as it enters the second leg of its Champions League clash, so should the Gunners rotate the squad?

After a dominating performance in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 clash against PSV, Arsenal will enter the return leg at the Emirates 7-1 ahead.

That means, barring an unlikely collapse, Mikel Arteta's side will be going through to the Champions League quarter finals.

So, with such a commanding lead, and the Gunners not having the true ability to rotate the squad on a game-by-game basis due to injuries, could Arteta look to swing the magnets around and get some younger players some minutes?

On the surface, that feels like the "smart" play here, but one thing we know about Arteta, is that he generally doesn't like to make wholesale changes. He would prefer to get up early and then take off his stars.

But such is the lead, which now stands at six goals, surely the Gunners manager might give some stars the night off, right?

Should Arteta rotate vs. PSV?

If there were a time to do it, that time is now, especially given that the Gunners have virtually all but sealed their passage through to the next round.

But as we know with Mikel, it isn't as straightforward as that.

"It is unique but it's also understanding how the game was played a week ago and the fact that everything went in the right direction for us from the beginning," Arteta said via arsenal.com. "We're going to have to earn the right tomorrow to go in the same direction, so we’re fully focused on that."

Given the size of the lead, it might be a night that we see Neto, Jorginho, Jakub Kiwior, Oleksander Zinchenko and another Gabriel Martinelli cameo at the Emirates.

With the league title now out of reach, the Gunners have to put all of their effort into the Champions League and yes, they have their work cut out, but any chance to get a breather in this competition should be taken.

Especially considering the amount of minutes a host of stars have played over the last month, it feels like the right time to let them sit out and allow the younger players to get a taste of European football.

Will Arteta rotate? We think he should.
