Sporting CP 1-5 Arsenal: Player ratings as Gunners run riot in Lisbon
- Arsenal were excellent in 5-1 victory over Sporting CP
- Gunners particularly brilliant in first-half as they took 3-0 lead into half-time
- Sporting CP suffer first defeat of the season
Midfielders
Thomas Partey (CM) - 7.5/10 - Sporting had some joy accessing their playmakers off Partey's back, and the midfielder did not produce a masterclass in screening. However, he added plenty of progression in possession and was the instigator of Arsenal's second goal.
Declan Rice (CM) - 7/10 - It was good to have Rice back in the XI after he had the weekend off. Rice smartly received possession in behind Sporting's pivot on occasions, but was perhaps a hint conservative when driving forward. Excellent delivery for Gabriel's goal.
Martin Odegaard (CM) - 7.5/10 - Knitted things together wonderfully down a humming right flank, playing a key role in the Gunners' superb first half display. Nifty footwork in the box led to the penalty.
