Arsenal are still working on the final stages of a deal for Viktor Gyokeres, but they have just been given a clear sign that they will be successful in bringing him to the Emirates.
Sporting have been tough for the Gunners to deal with during negotiations with plenty of haggling over the price and specifically add-ons. However, their recent actions in the transfer market should act as a sign that they are ready to sanction a sale.
The Primeira Liga champions are close to agreeing a deal for Almeria striker Luis Suarez, as per Fabrizio Romano, and after club-to-club talks have accelerated in recent hours, they could now be willing to sell Gyokeres to Arsenal.

Sporting's desire to receive a suitable fee for Gyokeres has played a huge part in negotiations taking so long to come to a conclusion. However, their impending move for a new striker acts as a sign that they know they will be parting ways with the Swede relatively soon.
That should tell Arsenal that despite the gruelling talks and discussions, they will be getting their hands on their key target this summer and that should be relatively soon. There is a likelihood that while Sporting's main concern was receiving close to their valuation for Gyokeres, they may also have been keen on bringing in a new striker before selling on.
The Gunners' hopes of signing Gyokeres took somewhat of a knock in the past few days after rumours emerged that Manchester United had submitted a bid for the striker with the hopes of hijacking a deal.
Fans' nerves were calmed however when several top sources revealed that no such bid had been made and the Swede was still set on a move to Arsenal and no other club. Regardless, there is always that worry during long negotiations that another side could swoop in and snatch the deal.
Arsenal should now be confident they can complete a move for Gyokeres though. Sporting seem to be preparing for life without him and that should tell the Gunners that they will be able to fully agree a deal soon. It shouldn't be too long until we finally get to see him in the famous red and white.
