It's funny how one game can change a mood. Last weekend, it felt as though the walls were caving in at the Emirates Stadium, with Arsenal fans left terrified of another title collapse after the defeat to Manchester City, and Pep Guardiola's win over Burnley a couple of days later didn't help.

That win took City above Arsenal, and the table looked pretty shocking for the Gunners, who had effectively led all season. Recent results do mean that, as things stand, if both Arsenal and City win all of their remaining games, it will come down to goal difference.

That is much closer than Arsenal would have wanted, even if they do come out on top, but the weekend's win over Newcastle United has changed the mood. As narrow as the win was, it felt like a big test passed, even if the Magpies are not the team they have been in recent years.

The Gunners, holding their nerve on the back of recent setbacks, sent a clear message to fans that this squad is ready to fight for the title. That win felt like a crucial moment in the title race, and there is more reason for optimism.

Arsenal can take confidence from Man City's potential vice

Mikel Arteta's men have a busy schedule themselves, given they have two legs to play against an Atletico Madrid side that will demand plenty of them physically. But Arsenal can take confidence from the brutal schedule City have been handed to finish the season.

We now know City will play their game in-hand with Crystal Palace on May 20, which is five days after their date with AFC Bournemouth and just two days before the final day of the season clash with a strong Aston Villa.

That's three games in seven days to finish the season and all of them are against highly competitive teams. That's a tough end to the season that Arsenal will be looking to exploit, and while the Gunners do have a busy schedule over the next two weeks due to the Champions League, there is no doubt that they have the advantage down the stretch.

Arteta's men have a full week between each of their last games, against West Ham, Burnley and Crystal Palace, making for an ideal final run when it comes to preparation. Suddenly the Premier League title feels very winnable again for Arsenal, and they have the decision-makers at the Premier League to thank.
