The one player Arsenal should sign in January (and it's not Antoine Semenyo)

Arsenal's injury crisis continues. They were facing a new injury every other day a few weeks ago, and just when fans thought everything was cooling down just a little bit, Arsenal were hit with a few injuries in quick succession before some of their most important games of the season.

Declan Rice missed the game against Aston Villa last night, and everyone could notice his absence during the game. However, there are other positions that were missing some players as well, and it raised the question of whether Arsenal should try to sign anyone in the winter transfer window.

Obviously, the Gunners have signed quite a few players over the summer, making rheir squad much deeper than in recent times. But even for teams with deep squads, injury crisis can arise, and that is what ended up happening with Arsenal.

They have found themselves without a single right back on a few occasions, and Mikel Arteta was forced to play his best player in Rice out of position to fill in for the injured full backs.

This raises the question: should Arsenal be looking at signing a right-back in January?

The Gunners already have two of the best right-backs in the entire league, but Ben White keeps getting injured far more often than anyone would want, leaving Jurrien Timber as the team's only player in that position in many, many games over the last year and a half.

That would obviously cause problems for Timber as well, who himself had an ACL rupture upon joining the club a few years ago.

Arsenal should be at least considering signing PSV's Givairo Read, a player who has been in the rumor mill for various Premier League clubs.

Manchester City are the team who have been linked with Read the most - and they'd probably end up signing him too - but maybe that should not be the case.

I'm not saying it is time for Arsenal to move on from Ben White, because he has given the club a lot before he started getting injured.

But Read is available. He fits what Arteta wants to do with his defenders. He's young, creative on the offensive end, which is what Arsenal need sometimes too.

Going for him would definitely not be the worst decision Arsenal could make. They'd have a much more reliable right back who is even younger and provides more offensive help. And Read would also help Timber get some rest when required.

And who knows, maybe if they sign him, Read will end up challenging Timber for the starting spot. Not immediately, but Read does have a lot of potential, so no one can count that out.
