Arsenal have proven once again why they are the team to watch out for this season.

Even after a few unconvincing results in the Premier League in the last few weeks, Arsenal came through when it mattered in the Champions League, picking up their seventh successive win in the competition, this time against Inter at the San Siro.

It was a great performance from the Gunners, who saw themselves as 3-1 victors over the Italian giants on Tuesday night.

It shows that Arsenal are serious. In games like this, Arsenal have faltered in the past. Now, they have developed a thicker skin against tough opponents, and are clear with what they want to achieve. It is obvious that Arsenal want to win it all this season, and this game would show everyone why that is possible.

Mikel Arteta was asked why the team is so good in the Champions League this season. He was asked about their 100% record in the competition - being the only team remaining that has yet to drop points - and why it is so important for their ambition.

The quiet reason Arsenal keep winning in the Champions League

He replied: "First of all, the ambition and the conviction that we have that we can compete against any team. Then you have to do it on the day. In order to do that, a lot of things have to go your way, and you have to put a lot of things on the table to make it happen. I love the attitude of the team.

"To come to this stadium, in that atmosphere, against the opponent that we have, because they are really good and they make it so hard for you, because they stretch you so much. In two passes you are open.

"But we played with a lot of intelligence, and we have to manage the game, we've done it, in the Champions League, it's a very important thing.

"The starters made an impact, the subs made an impact, and that's all the ingredients that you need at the end of the game if you want to have the option to win here."

Arteta is spot on with his analysis of the game. Arsenal players needed this conviction and confidence that they can take on any team in Europe. They did so against Real Madrid last season, but failed to build on that against PSG.

This season, things seem different, especially after convincing wins over Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and now Inter.

That is why they keep winning these games. They have that conviction in their mind that they are able to beat any team on any given night.

They have that belief that what they are trying to do is working in every competition, so it makes complete sense for them to build on it with wins over such huge, historic teams like Inter.

These are brilliant times for all Arsenal fans, and they should soak it all in.
