Arsenal legend and pundit Thierry Henry explained how he never felt the team to be in any 'danger' against Tottenham in the 4-1 win at their rivals' backyard.
After a nervy start to the game, Arsenal started dominating and creating loads of chances to score goals, and they ended up putting four past the goalkeeper of their biggest rivals in the sport in a drubbing in front of their own fans.
The result was the same in the reverse fixture, so it is safe to say that Arsenal have dominated this rivalry this season - an 8-2 aggregate scoreline cannot possibly tell you otherwise.
In fact, it is not just this season that Arsenal have been winning at Tottenham. It has been happening for a while, and Henry talked about how it has been for Arsenal and their fans in the last few years.
Thierry Henry explains why Arsenal were never in danger at Spurs
He said: “When has it been a tricky game for Arsenal since Tottenham moved to the new stadium? We have won our last four games there. What I liked against Spurs, and what I haven’t seen for a little while, is that being ahead doesn’t mean you have to sit back. Even in the 96th minute, Martinelli was chasing to get the ball back.
“In the Carabao Cup game at the Emirates against Chelsea, people questioned how he set up his team, but that wasn’t an easy game for Arsenal. I have been more worried about this next game than Tottenham away, just because of how Chelsea can go quick on the counter.”
It is fair to say that Henry has got a solid point. As weird as it feels having to say that about a rivalry as historic as this, it has been generally lop-sided as of late, with Arsenal taking home the larger share of victories.
Winning their last four games at their biggest rivals' backyard has got to be a special feeling for the fans, and it makes so much sense that Henry is more worried about the game that they will be playing in two days' time.
Chelsea gave them a lot more trouble than Tottenham ever did, and their quick wingers and better defensive structure - even though they are missing one big piece - is going to be more challenging for Arsenal.
It is going to be the more important tie as well, because everyone knows that Chelsea, at this moment, are a much better team than Tottenham, and they could give Arsenal a lot more trouble.
The two Carabao Cup games were much closer than either of the North London derbies, and it remains to be seen what this game on the weekend has in store.
