Arsenal are now in advanced talks to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, according to multiple reports.
Both Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein have revealed the Gunners are edging closer to securing the striker's signature. Discussions are ongoing between the two clubs, but Gyokeres is said to have agreed personal terms with no intention to negotiate other options.
A deal is not done yet, but it would certainly appear Arsenal are getting nearer to ending their age-old wait to sign a prolific goalscorer and it seems their man will end up being Gyokeres.

While the deal is not closed just yet, the situation is progressing towards a conclusion, with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said to be pushing for a swift ending to talks as his side's return for pre-season edges closer.
The Gunners have already struck an agreement on personal terms with Gyokeres. The Swede has agreed to sign a five-year deal in north London after prioritising a move to the English capital for some time. He is not prepared to discuss any alternative moves.
He will not return to training with Sporting with his full focus being on securing a move away from the club.
Gyokeres has evolved into one of Europe's most prolific strikers over recent seasons. Since first joining Sporting in 2023, he has scored 97 goals in 102 appearances for the club, as well as winning two league titles and a Taca de Portugal.
Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the Sweden international, but it initially appeared they had prioritised a move for RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko this summer. Arteta's side were in negotiations with the German club, but talks hit a standstill due to various reasons and that may have prompted the Gunners to focus solely on a move for Gyokeres.
Fabrizio Romano revealed that a 'here we go' could be close for Arsenal's pursuit of Gyokeres so now could be the time for fans to get excited. It's important to note that a deal is not yet completed, but everything seems to be heading in the right direction, meaning the Gunners could finally be bringing a world-class striker to the club.
