Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams opened up about the quiet atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium when Arsenal lost their hold on the Premier League title race.

Bournemouth won 2-1 on the evening, and the game itself saw a lot of nervy moments from Arsenal.

They were nowhere near the composed versions of themselves, which fans have grown accustomed to seeing every single match, and it looked like things were going to fall apart - which they did.

Arsenal now have to figure out a way to get themselves out of this mess, which would be a huge challenge for Mikel Arteta - especially if you factor in what Adams has just said.

In an interview with Men In Blazers, Adams was asked about the game, and how they knew they had a good chance of winning, and whether as a visitor, you could feel the anxiety.

He said: "100%. I think you could tell early on when they're trying to play out from the back that there was a sense of nervousness, but it just takes one little error or one little mistake and the fans get a little bit nervy.

"That's a difficult atmosphere to play in and thrive in when you're trying to chase a championship because we talk about them as if they are not sitting first at the table.

"But as an opposition it's the best thing to hear when you're playing in an away game and all of a sudden it feels like the momentum is swinging and it feels almost like a home game.

"They are trying to chase a title. We're trying to chase potentially finishing in a European position but it feels we're playing for more I think.”

These quotes are shocking, but even fans and people like Wayne Rooney have mentioned it a few times as of late.

Arsenal have had a problem with these sorts of things before, but the timing of this problem is frankly really gutting for Arteta's side. Arsenal fans have the right to feel about the team a certain way after what has happened this season, but it is the time when these players need a lot of support.

Arsenal fans are well within their rights to not be as charismatic as they usually are, because the team has sort of disappointed them - so they are welcome to show their disdain, but it would prove to be counter-intuitive.

Tough love rarely works in football, and it is quite tough for these players to do well if their fans let the nerves get the better of them.

It is a sticky situation that Mikel Arteta would not want to be a part of, but he would have to figure this out as soon as possible, as Arsenal really do not have any time to waste.
