Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres has made his feelings on Alexander Isak crystal clear after the two secured dramatic and controversial moves during the summer transfer window.
The Swede was questioned on the idea of "player power" when discussing his international teammate's recent switch from Newcastle to Liverpool. He stood up for Isak after similarities had been drawn between his move to the Premier League champions and Gyokeres' own transfer to the Gunners.
Both players finalised transfers to new clubs this summer and found themselves embroiled in controversy regarding the manner of their moves, but Gyokeres has now made his feelings on the subject known.
Viktor Gyokeres defends Alexander Isak's transfer actions

When asked about Isak's move to Liverpool while on international duty, Gyokeres said: "I congratulated Isak for the move. I don't really know the situation exactly, so it's difficult for me to speak about that.
"When it's a player that is not wanted in a club I think it's the total opposite, he doesn't have any power, the club can literally do whatever they want."
Isak's transfer to the Premier League champions was confirmed late on deadline day after a lengthy saga that stole the headlines during the latter stages of the summer. The Swede had refused to train with Newcastle and was also absent from their pre-season tour as he looked to force through a move.
Despite the Magpies standing firm, he eventually got his wish when a deal was struck in the early hours of the window's final day before the move was confirmed before the deadline.
Gyokeres completed a switch to Arsenal earlier this summer and did so in a similar manner. Desperate for a move to the English capital, he didn't return to Sporting to prepare for pre-season, much to the disdain of club president Frederico Varandas.
However, he managed to secure a transfer way ahead of the start of the campaign, allowing his former club plenty of time to bring in a replacement.
While he and his international teammate both got their wishes this summer, Gyokeres did push back on the idea of "player power" and suggested a club is the one who holds practically all control.
That view may be controversial to some given how prominent such situations have been this summer with Yoane Wissa managing a move to Newcastle by following the same protocol as Gyokeres and Isak. However, if he can show his class on the pitch, his actions will soon be forgotten and forgiven.
The pair of Swedes will now be direct rivals this season with their respective clubs being the two favourites to win the Premier League title, but this newly formed contest has not had an effect on their relationship.
When asked about his partnership with Isak, Gyokeres said: "It's always good to have good players in the national team. We of course want to reach the World Cup next year and if we have the best players available in the team that's of course going to help.
"We played a few games together and felt very good. He's scored, I've scored and we've assisted each other. I think it's good to keep going on that path and improve more with the team."
Following Arsenal's 1-0 defeat to Liverpool ahead of the international break, Gyokeres and Isak won't go head to head on the pitch until the return fixture that is scheduled for January. However, in the meantime they will both be looking to lead their new sides in their respective title charges.
