Arsenal put on a sensational showing on Saturday evening as they beat West Ham 5-2 at London Stadium to make it three wins on the bounce.

Mikel Arteta made a couple of changes ahead of this tie, bringing in Jorginho and Leandro Trossard in place of Thomas Partey and Gabriel Martinelli.

The Gunners went into the game in need of a win to get back in the top four and they very much obliged as their brilliance fired them up to second in the table.

A case of deja vu struck Arsenal as yet another corner resulted in a goal. Bukayo Saka's well taken cross was met by the head of Gabriel Magalhaes who glanced a header past Lukas Fabianski. Leandro Trossard doubled his side's lead just before the half hour mark after some nice exchange play between Saka and Martin Odegaard.

Saka was involved once again as his tricky footwork saw him get taken down in the box to win a penalty. Skipper Odegaard stepped up to take and coolly tucked his effort into the bottom corner. Arsenal added a fourth in quick succession when Trossard's nice first time pass over the top for Kai Havertz resulted in the German tucking it away.

It got nervy for the Gunners soon after when Aaron Wan-Bissaka grabbed what looked like a consolation for his side with a neat finish past David Raya. Emerson then stepped up and netted a brilliant free kick to give the Hammers a lifeline just for another Arsenal penalty, this time scored by Saka, put the visitors back in control.

The action-packed seven-goal first half was not replicated in the second 45 as Arsenal did well to subdue a West Ham side with a new attitude.

Here are the Arsenal player ratings from their 5-2 win at West Ham:

Goalkeeper & Defenders

David Raya (GK) - 6.5/10 - Will have wanted to keep a clean sheet but there was not much he could do about either West Ham goal. Made a good save to deny Emerson a second free kick goal.

Jurrien Timber (RB) - 7/10 - Helped out in attack when he got up the pitch and linked up well with Saka and Odegaard. Put in a good defensive shift.

William Saliba (CB) - 7/10 - Standard showing from the brilliant Frenchman who did well to keep out a lot of the Hammers' pressure. Like his fellow defenders, will be gutted not to have kept a clean sheet but can't argue with the performance.

Gabriel Magalhaes (CB) - 7.5/10 - Scored the opener with yet another great header from a corner. Performed well defensively and will be disappointed not to have kept a clean sheet. Withdrawn at half time.

Riccardo Calafiori (LB) - 6.5/10 - Got up the pitch on plenty of occasions and defended well. Overall, did his job well tonight before being replaced just before the half hour mark.
