Arsenal fans have a lot of affection for Arsene Wenger. They have always had a lot of it, especially after he left the club as the most important figure in the club's history.
It is also really good to see that Wenger has continued and displayed his affection for club long after leaving. He still hasn't managed a single club after leaving Arsenal, and it shows that not only was it time for him to move on from football management, but it was also good to leave it after such a heartfelt time with Arsenal that lasted two decades.
He was recently asked about Arsenal's title winning chances this season, and who he thinks is the favorite to win the Premier League this time around.
Wenger's answer surprised no one, and especially not Arsenal fans.
He said: "No, Arsenal will win the league this season. Why do you ask if they can? We will win the league. I’m honestly very confident, maybe it’s because I’m not involved. I am very confident, we will win.
“We have a very balanced team, we have a good team attitude. We have top potential offensively and defensively and in every position we have two players, and in some we have three players. Overall on the longer term we can cope with every competition.”
It is brilliant to see what Wenger thinks about Arsenal's title chances. He himself won three of those titles with Arsenal during his time at the club - and probably would have wanted to win a few more during those years - but it is always good to see one of the club's biggest legends back their own team to win something they have always aimed to win.
The last Premier League title that Arsenal won came under Arsene Wenger, which happened more than 21 years ago.
So, to see Arsenal win the league again will not just be good for the fans, but also for Wenger, who, especially in some of his final years at the club, tried very hard to make it happen.
There are a lot more factors in place than just the quality of these players or the depth that Arsenal have, of course.
It is also worth noting that Arsenal really need that mentality - which is something that has been missing in the last few years, even though they have been close to winning it all - and that will only come through making it past the difficult stages with three points, as they did at the death against Wolves on Saturday.
