After seeing Liverpool win the league, how will Arsenal be mentally against PSG midweek?

Arsenal's Premier League title challenge has officially ended with Liverpool's 5-1 win over Tottenham confirming Arne Slot's team as champions.

Granted, most knew this was going to be the outcome, even a couple of months ago, but now that it is official, the mood ahead of the club's biggest fixture in recent memory could be zapped.

And that isn't ideal.

The Gunners need everything to go their way in the Champions League and with the precarious nature of their top four status too, it could be a tricky time for Mikel Arteta's side in the coming weeks.

Of course, Arsenal's win over Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals will give a boost of confidence, but maybe, the club still believed they could chase down Liverpool.

Well, they can't now.

Which brings us to the mental state of Arteta's side with PSG coming into view, and we have mentioned this earlier, before the Real Madrid clash and how the Gunners need to be narrow focused on the task at hand.

Will Gunners be able to put league disappointment behind them?

Yes, the league has been "gone" for a couple of months now, but given that it is all official, will the Gunners lose their thirst for the contest?

We sure hope not, as the Champions League is the last remaining hope for Arteta to get a trophy this season, and of course, it's the hardest one, isn't it.

PSG at home in the first leg offers the Gunners a great chance, as they did against Real, to hit the ground running and take a lead into the second leg.

But after being up and down for the last couple of weeks, can the Gunners go again, at a time when they need to be as mentally tough as they've ever been?

Arteta knows his team has improved and taken on most challengers this season despite the injury list and small squad size, but now its gut-check time in north London.

If the Gunners suffer a loss in the first leg, overturning that in Paris looms as a tall order, and with the league title already lost, it will be a horror week for the north London side.

We have seen them overcome adversity before, but this one is different. They are out of the title race officially.

Will that hinder them against PSG? We sure hope not.
