No matter how good a top team is, they always find ways to improve, and Arsenal are the same.

Even after spending so much money in the summer trying to bolster the squad, Arsenal still have some weaknesses, and it is clear to see which positions they might need to invest some more money in.

That is what you end up doing. It is never enough, because there is always one position that you can improve, and Arsenal know which one theirs is.

It is the attack, and even though Antoine Semenyo was available to sign in January, Arsenal chose not to see it through, and now, the player is close to joining their rivals Manchester City.

However, Arsenal are showing interest in one more player - someone who is not from the Premier League at all, but has shown a lot of potential this season playing in a different country.

Why Arsenal’s attention has turned to a rising Bundesliga name

Frankfurt's Jean-Mattéo Bahoya has been looked at by Arsenal, according to Sky Sports, and Andrea Berta is officially interested.

Bahoya has been playing well for Frankfurt this season, scoring three goals and getting one assist in all competitions this season. He is a very young, raw player, so it makes sense why the statistics are not as glamarous as you might think.

Still, Bahoya has been getting linked with a number of clubs, which shows that the player has some quality, and even though his numbers don't exactly back it up, the eye test and potential would.

The price that is being quoted, however, is a lot. Frankfurt reportedly want 70 million pounds for the player, which, if you look at his quality at the moment, may not be worth it. Frankfurt believe his potential warrants a signing in that figure.

One thing that Arsenal fans, and especially Mikel Arteta, would love is his workrate. He is really hard-working on both ends, averaging more blocks than 97% of wingers in Europe, per Fbref. He also averages more tackles than 97% of wingers, and his technical quality is also really high.

Some people have even called him a 'younger Saka' because of his work rate, which is obviously a very big positive.

Bahoya is very raw going forward, so things will have to improve, but these are the players you spend money on. On the more positive side, though, he can easily play on the left wing and as an attacking midfielder, so there's a lot of versatility there as well.

If Arsenal are able to get the price tag down to somewhere in the 50 million to 60 million range, then it should be a deal that the Gunners should do not just for now, but also for the future.

However, if Arsenal were to pay around 70 million for him, then it probably would have been better spent on someone like Semenyo, who is ahead in his development, alongside being proven in the Premier League.
