Leicester City vs Arsenal Prematch
By Brian Wong
In a match where Arsenal are away at the new boys of the premier league, we should believe that this game is going to be less nerve-wracking than the game played mid-week. In no way should Arsenal take this game lightly, however. After that intense game just a few days ago this will definitely be the first major test on Arsenal’s depth. I don’t think Arsenal is going to lose this match, but I also don’t think it will be the blowout some people think It will be. Prediction: Leicester City 0 – 1 Arsenal, I foresee another Aaron Ramsey goal and the gunners controlling the game, but I don’t see more than 1 goal scored despite what I think will be a comfortable game, and here is why:
Laurent Koscielny is expected to return to the Arsenal defence following both an injury and suspension. Pic: Givemesport
1) Arsenal’s defense
With the team back at full strength, Arsenal’s defense shouldn’t face too many problems against a relatively weak Leicester City attack. Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny showed us that the defense is much more stable when they are both playing. Calum Chambers has shown us that he can add much needed depth to the 2 center backs. However, the most impressive player of all is Arsenal’s new French right back, Mathieu Debuchy. So far Debuchy has shown that he has been an upgrade and that if it wasn’t for 2 poor fouls he would have completed all 90 minutes of the last game.
2) A fresh Aaron Ramsey
Maybe the red card for Ramsey was a blessing in disguise. Sometimes, Arsene Wenger is guilty of tiring out his players and Aaron Ramsey is definitely going to see a lot of playing time throughout the year. A week long break may be beneficial, considering he will need to help push a team that has already played a game this week. As I mentioned, I think Ramsey is going to be the difference in this game, and when he is fresh he can be more aggressive and make more of those signature runs.

3) Alexis Sanchez, first of many to come?
Alexis Sanchez has gotten a monkey off his back! Although I thought his first goal would come even earlier in the season, scoring in the fourth game of the year isn’t bad at all. Actually it is very impressive and I can’t wait to see him score more goals. Alexis Sanchez will only get better and it is nice to see a big money purchase preforming well.
