FINAL: Arsenal 4-1 Galatasaray

Arsenal came into the game knowing that it would take a borderline miracle for them to surpass Borussia Dortmund and win the group, but the groundwork for a potential miracle was laid very early, with Lukas Podolski rifling home a goal in the 3rd minute and showing the world why he thinks he deserves more playing time for Arsene Wenger’s squad.

Arsenal looked in complete control from the word go and they continued their dominance when Aaron Ramsey slotted home his first goal of the game in the 11th minute to give Arsenal a cool 2-0 lead.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Ramsey’s true magic was let out in the 29th minute. Off of a corner, the ball found it’s way to the Welshman who unleashed a glorious valley that flew by a collection of startled faces into the top corner. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more stunning goal (VIDEO of goal here).

It was all said and done after a mere 30 minutes. Arsenal shut up shop for the second half, but after a Wesley Sneijder free kick gave the Turkish side a smile, Podolski eliminated that smile with his second goal a mere two minutes later, the last kick of the game.

What a game for Arsenal. Not only did Ramsey and the Ox look stunning, but Podolski showed brilliance as well. We were even able to see some of our youth in Gedion Zelalem, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Stefan O’Connor.

Debuchy and Sczcesny were back in action and they looked as fit as if they’d never left (minus some exhaustion from Debuchy)

Even though this was a Turkish side that looked defeated from the onset and despite the fact that it really meant nothing, it should still help uplift Arsenal fans after being embarrassed by Stoke. Bring on Newcastle!
