Arsenal Predicted XI Against Newcastle United
By Josh Sippie
Mesut Ozil
Ozil is building on a string of consistency that seems to grow with each game. He was good against Monaco, although it was the smallest of dips in form. But he impressed me at Monaco in that his effort and work rate was like I’ve never seen before. He was hustling after the ball and doing all he could to win it back.
The one thing that’s starting to irk me with Ozil is his inability to take a shot. He pulled the trigger against Monaco, but he needs to start making it a habit. A No. 10 with excellent passing is a useful tool, but being at such an advanced position, he’s going to find himself in positions to score and he has to start converting those chances and not desperately looking for someone to lay it off to.
