Angel Di Maria

One of my least favorite players from last years Premier League season was Angel Di Maria. The fact that he played for Manchester United had very little to do with it. In a match-up against Arsenal, Di Maria flopped his way to a red card and rumor has it he was flopping all the way to the dressing room. Not only that, but he cost an outrageous 60 million pounds. That right there is mildly infuriating.

All that aside, Di Maria is a fantastic athlete, but that is not enough to qualify him as a viable Arsenal target. His cost is said to be in the 40 million pound range (ah, deflation), and PSG are readying their swoop as well, although the Telgraph reports that if it can be done, Arsenal will do it.

Let’s not.

William Carvalho

As if being linked to Di Maria wasn’t bad enough, our linkage to William Carvalho is slowly coming undone. Sources indicate that he is either staying in Portugal or fetching a fee upwards of 32 million pounds. That is what we call inflation.

Jorge Jesus, Sporting CP’s manager, indicated via ESPNFC that Carvalho will be staying put: “William is a certainty. Sporting has young people who are already certainties, are not hopes or doubts. William will be enhanced if the team is also.”

So there’s that, and then there is the fact that Real Madrid appear locked and loaded to unleash 32 million pounds on the kid as they prepare for the loss of Asier Illarramendi (via the Daily Mail).

Pedro

Pedro continues to leave us wondering why he signed that new deal in the first place. He has admitted (via the Evening Standard) that “it is obviously a tricky situation. When pre-season starts we have to see what is the best for everyone.” Sounds like he just wants to fish for potential homes and go from there.

Arturo Vidal

After having one rumored foot in Arsenal’s rumored door, Vidal was then supposedly on the brink of a five year deal with Real Madrid. However, all that appears to be hoopla as Juventus have issued a statement via their CEO Beppe Marotta: “About Vidal those are only rumours.”

However, everything starts with a rumor, so do not look for Vidal transfer talk to die down any time soon.

Carl Jenkinson

More from Arsenal Transfer Rumours

Rumors were circulating that Jenkinson was on his way out on a permanent basis, but that was ousted fairly quickly and now it looks like Jenko is just set for another season-long loan with his home from last year, West Ham. The Guardian indicates that since he is behind both Bellerin and Debuchy, that it would be best for him to grab first-team experience elsewhere.

Muzzi Ozcan, an agent, has indicated that Arsenal are going to make a big move soon. He tweeted: “Arsenal will be making the transfer of the season ! The deal isn’t to far from being complete ! Will update in the coming days,” as reported by the Metro.

While this is pretty baseless and full of all the workings of ‘hype,’ Arsenal are looking to make more moves and they still have another 40 million pounds to spend. Could it be Benzema?
