Arsenal injury report: Return dates and latest player updates

Arsenal's 2025/26 season has been plagued by a plethora of worrying injury news. Throughout the course of the season, several key players have been missing.

In fact, Mikel Arteta hasn't been able to field his strongest possible lineup at any point. Whenever one key player returns, another two drop to the floor.

So, with worrying Arsenal injury news coming left, right and center, we will be providing updates on the current players Arsenal are without.

Max Dowman - Unavailable (ankle ligament injury)

Arsenal youngster Max Dowman picked up a devastating injury blow in the middle of December.

David Ornstein was the first to break the news, and The Athletic journalist said that Max Dowman picked up an ankle ligament injury, in a friendly against Man United.

It is expected that Max Dowman will be out for two months, but the exact point of his return is still unknown. The one positive we do know, though, is that he's not scheduled for surgery.

Leandro Trossard - Unavailable (knock)

Leandro Trossard has been Arsenal's standout player of the season so far, but he hasn't been without his injuries.

In the Champions League match against Bayern Munich, Trossard suffered an unfortunate knock to his calf. The Belgian attacker has been nursing that knock ever since, despite scoring against Bayern Munich and Aston Villa since.

William Saliba - Unavailable (knock)

William Saliba is the one player Arsenal do not want to be injured. Naturally, then, he is injured.

The French defender has been out for longer than Arsenal fans would want. After picking up a knock before the Chelsea clash, William Saliba has missed three games so far, and he's now expected to miss a fourth.

William Saliba will not play against Club Brugge on Wednesday evening, with Mikel Arteta claiming, very bluntly "William is still not available"

Declan Rice - Unavailable (illness)

Mikel Arteta confirmed that Declan Rice would miss the Champions League match against Club Brugge. It is not expected to be a serious blow, but he is ill, and could not make the trip.

“Declan [Rice] was ill. He was quite sick after the game [against Aston Villa] already and he hasn’t travelled with us,” said Arteta.

Gabriel - Unavailable (muscle injury)

Arsenal has been missing Gabriel for weeks now, but he is getting closer to his return.

Gabriel sustained a muscle injury since the November international break, but he is expected to return to action for Arsenal closer to the end of December or start of January.

Cristhian Mosquera - Unavailable (muscle injury)

Cristhian Mosquera picked up an injury in the Premier League win against Brentford. He then went on to miss the game against Aston Villa. He will also miss the Brugge fixture on Wednesday night.

Mikel Arteta didn't say anything about Cristhian Mosquera in his pre-Brugge presser, but it is known that he will be missing for around six weeks.
