Mario Gotze

This deal appears off, thankfully, as Mario Gotze and Juventus have stepped up talks according to the Daily Star. Gotze has supposedly had a hard time adjusting to life under the controversial Pep Guardiola and seeks to ply his trade in another country.

With Arturo Vidal set to move to Bayern Munich, the two sides are also discussing sending Mario Gotze the opposite way.

Karim Benzema

The deal is still on, as Arsene Wenger did not rule out a deal. Real Madrid are reportedly listening to offers for the striker. With Ronaldo set to take the striker spot, Benzema may be frozen out and forced to play striker at another team. Thankfully, Arsenal appear to be the front runners should that situation occur.

Daniele Rugani

The young Juventus defender may well be off the transfer table as the Italian side reportedly swatted away a 15 million pound bid from Arsenal, according to talksport. The side swatted it so fast that they probably did not even have time to see the details. Either they are playing hard to get or they want Rugani to literally be hard to get.

Alessio Romagnoli

The second young defender in Arsenal’s pursuits, Roma at least appear willing to listen to offers, as reports from the Metro hint that Arsenal is meeting with Roma officials to discuss a whopping 24.4 million pound deal.

Whether he is really worth that much or not, I am full of doubts. The kid is only 20 years old and spending that much money for an unproven 20 year old is not only a risk, but a risk that Arsene Wenger never takes.

More from Arsenal Transfer Rumours

Arsenal are supposedly readying a 31 million pound bid for the Dortmund striker, but given the history of Dortmund links and the price when compared to better options such as Benzema and Lacazette, I again find myself as a doubter over whether this rumor has any credibility whatsoever.

Joel Campbell

Real Sociedad appear willing to pay only six million, and multiple sources are indicating that Arsene Wenger does not gel with that price. Calling Campbell a flop is unfair because of his limited opportunities, but it is pretty clear that he is out of favor and so far into the shadow at Arsenal that he may never see the pitch again. He has been a perpetual loanee and you have to wonder how much longer he will ride that wave before he goes somewhere permanently.
