Spanish journalist Kike Martin tweeted that Arsenal had a ultra super secret striker on reserve if their pursuit of Karim Benzema continued to break everyone’s heart. Take a look:

Lewandowski bailed on Dortmund to join Bayern Munich and it has not been as easy as he thought. With Thomas Muller to compete with, the Pole has found his options hampered a bit.

More from Arsenal Transfer Rumours

As such, he is currently on the rumored out from the German giants, with a transfer fee weighing in at 44.7 million pounds, which is far higher than Benzema’s supposed 31 million. However, Lewandowski has the resume to back it up. His agent has confirmed that he really only has two directions to go – Spain or England.

Arsenal had been liked to the Polish hit man as early as last summer, as they tried to use his countryman Wojciech Szczesny to lure him over. Clearly it did not pan out.

Lewandowski is very similar to Giroud, but he is an elite striker that would provide a superior striking option. 44 million does not seem all that realistic, however.
