Petr Cech is an easy ‘A’. While it was heavily debated whether or not Arsenal needed a new keeper with David Ospina’s standout year, no one could deny that Cech was an upgrade and for £11 million, it was an easy decision.

Petr Cech brings confidence and order to the back of the Arsenal formation, a place where confidence and order have often times been lacking.

Despite a shaky start against West Ham and an average go against Crystal Palace, Cech won Arsenal a point at home against Liverpool. Newcastle provided very little threat, but a clean sheet is a clean sheet.

Identified as the closest thing to a ‘need’ that Arsenal had, adding a world-class keeper made Arsenal immediate title contenders. They still are, despite what you may be hearing.
