When one striker scores 5 goals in 9 minutes, it only makes sense that Arsenal supporters are clamoring again. What Lewandowski did in 9 minutes, Arsenal have equaled in an entire season. The Polish hit man scored as many goals in 9 minutes as Arsenal have scored in 450. That is so frustrating that it is hilarious.

To make matters more interesting, Robert Lewandowski’s agent has spoken out with cryptic statements about his client’s future. “I have a plan in mind for Lewandowski’s future. Manchester? It always rains there. Barcelona or Madrid? They are nice places, and in Spain there is the best atmosphere for playing football,” he said as reported by ESPN.

Lewandowski’s time at Bayern Munich has not been flowing with milk and honey like he anticipated. Pep Guardiola is not everyone’s favorite manager. He has been known to clash with players in his own quiet and subdued way. Characters like Zlatan Ibrahimovic have nothing but bad things to say about Guardiola, yet players like Lionel Messi have nothing but good things. Perhaps it is all a matter of character.

There is no reason to doubt Lewandowski’s character. However, there is reason to doubt his relationship with Guardiola. With Thomas Muller the No. 1 striker for the German giants, Lewan finds himself playing a support role, yet he has scored 8 goals in just 5 appearances. Guardiola has a decision to make. He can solidify his relationship with Lewan by awarding him the starting role, but that outcasts Muller.

Both strikers are world class. Neither one should be in a support role and both are well aware of that. The internal competition is working well as they compete against each other but in the end they both want to be starting every single match.

What Lewandowski’s agent was hinting at is completely up for interpretation. That is just how he intended it. He did not rule out Manchester United or England and he did not rule in favor of Spain. He was just making generalized statements.

The likelihood of Lewandowski coming to Arsenal is just as slim as it has always been. The only thing in their favor now is if Guardiola continues to treat the Polish striker as the No. 2. That could lead him to seek his fortunes elsewhere. But with the undeniable quality that Lewandowski has, a trip to Barcelona or Real Madrid would be more plausible. Yet he would run into the same problems there that he has run into at Bayern Munich. Is he really going to overtake Lionel Messi? Cristiano Ronaldo? Karim Benzema? Guys that have been embedded in their position for years are going to take precedence over the newcomer.

So is the Premier League his best possible outlet? It very well could be. The problem is he won’t come cheap and given Wenger’s track history, he probably won’t come to Arsenal. Either way, we should most certainly be paying attention to the treatment Lewan gets following his dramatic impact against Wolfsburg.
