The Isco at Real Madrid saga has continued with the Spaniard netting for Los Blancos against Las Palmas with James Rodriguez out due to injury. Isco has admitted that he will play any position for Rafa Benitez, he just wants to force a dilemma for the manager when he selects his squad.

“I will continue working and fighting to make it difficult for the manager,” he said via Goal.com.

The kicker of all of this is that Isco got the start with Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and James Rodriguez all not available. Those three are going to take precedence over Isco on any given day. Benitez is much more keen to give James the role that Isco has been filling in for, as he has consistently done in the past.

More from Arsenal Transfer Rumours

As it stands, Isco is nothing more than an injury fill-in for Real Madrid. Despite deserving a starting role, the Spanish giants went out and purchased Toni Kroos and James over the summer, leaving Isco again out of a position.

How long before that gets too frustrating? There are teams out there that would welcome Isco with open arms and reward him for the work he continually puts in. There are teams that will not purchase overpriced replacements for a guy that wants nothing more than to play for his club. Nothing against James and Kroos, but they bought into the Madrid hype, and why shouldn’t they? It’s a perennial powerhouse. But Isco is not here just to win trophies, he is here to play for the team and to prove his worth. Something that Rafa Benitez is not allowing him to do on a regular basis.

Enter, Arsenal.

Arsenal is a side that rewards hard-working players. Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey – all of these guys have gone through hardships at the club but still are given every chance in the world to hold down their starting role. It has worked for two and a half of those players and if I were a betting man, I would say it will probably work on Danny Welbeck and the other half of Walcott in the future too. Wenger is a faithful manager. Nothing goes unseen.

Isco is loved by the Real Madrid fans, but without a regular place on the team, like he wants and deserves, how long does he stick it out for? What’s to say Real Madrid won’t go buy Paul Pogba over the summer just because they can. Forcing Isco into another situation where he is used solely for injury duties.

Isco’s work ethic would be haled at Arsenal. He would be a regular. If he is willing to play any position, he would be starting every game for the Gunners. Santi Cazorla is not going to be in his holding role forever and Isco is very similar to Cazorla, just bigger and faster.

The ties between Arsenal and Isco have been present for some time but there has been very little said about it. Not from Isco, not from Arsenal, not from Real Madrid. Maybe that’s a good thing, maybe not.
