5. More Nerves
No, not from Jack Wilshere. From us. Every time Jack Wilshere hits the dirt, we fear the worst. It’s just the way we have been conditioned. The added nerves comes from the manner of his injury this time around. Usually we can see Jack Wilshere get hurt on the pitch. Every time he gets knocked down making his tenacious runs, the nerves set in that it’s another fracture. That was bad enough.
But now we have to deal with the knowledge that his most recent injury was from a ‘training accident.’ That is scary. That is a reminder that even if we can’t see it, Jack Wilshere can still get hurt. Essentially, he can get hurt anywhere.
It is going to take a seriously long stretch of health to shake that fear from Arsenal fans. And not just one or two years.
Next up, something else will be increasing as well.
