Arsenal Vs Olympiakos: 5 Things We Learned
By Josh Sippie
4. The Arsenal Trifecta Is Working
When Aaron Ramsey was still hurt and Alexis Sanchez was healthy, Arsenal had a pretty effective triangle that consisted of Alexis, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud. However, what we saw today was a magnificent trifecta of Ramsey, Ozil and Giroud. This is where Arsenal will win and lose games on the offensive side of the ball. The first goal was wholly a result of these three all being on the same page and knowing what was going to happen before it happened.

Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil are already forming a brilliant partnership in the middle of the pitch. It was a little iffy at first, but in very little time they have ironed out the kinks and look to be on the same wavelength. When that wavelength is extended to Olivier Giroud and it’s all clicking, Arsenal’s offense is dynamic.
What was most impressive about it is that this entire offense went through Olivier Giroud. Aaron Ramsey did not even take a shot. This offense adjusted to the changing scenario and just kept feeding Giroud the ball and it paid off. Mesut Ozil was not his usual dominant passing self, completing just 78% of his passes. But as a trifecta is supposed to do, when one player fades to the background, another steps up. It worked to perfection against Olympiakos.
Next, we focus in on one key member of that trifecta.
