5. Isco Is An Offensive Machine

It really is sad how much and how often Real Madrid overlook Isco. When he was the incumbent for a permanent spot, they went out and bought Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez. Those signings effectively eliminated his first-team hopes and should have shown him what a future at the club would look like. Internal competition is nice and all but not when a guy that continuously proves himself is being shunned year in and year out.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

It is a marvel why. Isco is an offensive machine. This year he has a goal and six assists as well as a 90% pass completion and over two key passes per game. He has scored 15 goals and added 22 assists when you throw in the previous two years at Madrid.

What makes those numbers sparkle is the fact that he does not have a set position. Real Madrid put him wherever an injury is. Having zero consistency in your positioning can have its adverse effects. Early in his career people were worried what all the position changing would do to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain too.

Isco performs wherever he plays. Next up, let’s talk about a bit more of why he’s so darn good.
